Indications: Add-on therapy in mild to moderate asthma inadequately controlled by inhaled corticosteroids and short-acting beta-2 agonists.
Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction
Dosage : Adults: 10mg daily at bedtime with or without food. Children: Under 6 years, not recommended; 6-14 years, 5mg at bedtime, If with food, take 1 hour before or 2 after.
Precaution : Do not substitute for inhaled or oral steroid therapy. Do not use for relief of acute symptoms. Discontinue if symptoms of Churg-Strauss syndrome appear. Pregnancy, lactation.
Interactions : Phenobarbitone, phenytoin, rifampicin.
Adverse Effects : Abdominal pain, headache.
